The story of Barrels of Love is powerful! Learn all about the formation of this ministry to Liberia and the impact that it's made in the full interview with its founder, Connie Miller. (Portions of this video were shown during worship this morning).
Collection begins next Sunday for the children's book drive for BĂȘte Gbanee School in Paynesville and the Dominic Hena School in Kakata to celebrate Barrels of Love's 20th annivesary. Please gather new or gently

 used children's books (no textbooks please). Look to your children for titles they particularly enjoy(ed). Deliver them to the upper parking lot at Asbury on Sunday, March 14 and March 21 between 9 AM and 10:30 AM.

An session was held today to share information on the upcoming merger between Asbury Church and Salem UMC (Allentown). Video and the slide presentation from that session can be found on our website.



Charge Conference Webinar - Thursday, March 18, 5 PM
In accordance with para 2546 of the 2016 UM Book of Discipline, Merger of Local United Methodist Churches, a special Charge Conference is being held by Allentown: Asbury UMC, called by Superintendent Steven Morton, for the purpose of considering a proposal to merge with the congregation at Allentown: Salem UMC, effective 3/31/21. All are welcome to attend but only the elected members of the current church council are responsible for voting on the proposal (para 246.2). The Charge Conference will take place Thursday, March 18, at 5 PM via Zoom.

Upcoming UMW Circle Meetings:
Susanna Circle will meet via Zoom on Monday, March 8, at 7 PM. Pastor Barbara Lee will lead discussion on the history of Lent and why this unique season may be vital for you personally as you seek to grow as a disciple of Christ. Visit Asbury's website to sign up to receive more info.

We hope children and their families will join us for a fun, unique approach to celebrating Holy Week and Easter. Families will receive palms and be part of a drive through Palm Sunday Parade, see stations representing The Last Supper, Jesus Praying in the Garden and more.

Where: Asbury's lower level parking lot. Please enter off of Winchester Road.

Families can take palms home with them following the event to have them available for online worship on Palm Sunday.

Wanted: people interested in making plastic sleeping mats for the homeless to insulate them from the cold dampness of the ground

Skills needed: cutting with scissors and single crochet (or team up with someone to share these two jobs)

Tools needed: scissors, a bigger-sized crochet hook (size "P" is recommended), a yardstick or measuring tape

Raw materials: clean used plastic shopping and grocery bags with soft seams - these are turned into a plastic yarn, called... 
plarn!

Guidance: Wendy Arbushites can teach you how to do the entire process. It's very easy!

Supply source: We currently have plenty of bags which have been "quarantined" for at least a week to avoid any Coronavirus issues. Please email Wendy if you are interested in helping!
