As you know, our Discernment Team has been tasked with helping our Church Council navigate through the current disagreement within the United Methodist denomination. This ad-hoc team has met to pray and prepare for the work of listening to the congregation as well as to the Holy Spirit. During the month of October, the Discernment Team heard from a wide array of members and groups from the Asbury church family.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary, Rev. Mike Holly will provide a brief report on the Discernment Team’s work from the October Listening Sessions. He will also map out the next steps for the team in their work for our church. Our hope is that this first report will answer a few questions as well as to provide you with further information to help you personally and prayerfully discern. 

This event is open to anyone invested and involved at Asbury UMC. Childcare and programs will be provided and a church-wide dinner is available but you must register and purchase a meal if you plan to eat. If you are not able to attend in person, a video presentation of the same information will be emailed church wide.
