June 17, 2021

The book of Hebrews tells us that Samson was a hero of the faith.  His story has been taught for years in Sunday School.  But the book of Judges shows him as a man driven by his sexual appetite, his vindictiveness and temper. Though exposed to the things of God, Samson's life is defined by poor decisions, rash judgments and carnal desires. Yet through all of the compromise and moral failure God used him in a powerful way.

Join us as we continue a 4-week sermon series, The Judges, this Sunday with the message "Samson."

Resources for Worship
Children's Bulletins: Ages 3+ | Ages 7+

As we take another trip "to the movies" during our July sermon series, we'll be offering indoor worship only to allow for viewing of video clips as part of the messages. There will be no outdoor worship offered during July. The 10:30 AM service will continue to be streamed at live.asburylv.org. Due to copyright restrictions, the movie clips will not be part of streaming worship, but a description of the scene will be provided.
Nametags for Worship
As we begin to worship in-person again, you may realize that you've forgotten some faces/names over the past 15 months; or want to get to know our Salem friends (and help them to know you!). To help, we'll have stick-on nametags available. For the 9 AM outdoor, there will be a small box on the cart, and for 10:30 AM indoor, there will be a table in the hallway near the Sanctuary. If you would like a more permanent magnetic tag, contact Laurie Wallace Theisen, Director of Lay Ministries, at ltheisen@asburylv.org.

The packing will take place at Through These Hands' location in Lehighton, PA (about a half-hour drive from Asbury) at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 26th. If you can help, please contact Dick McCreight for details (or respond to this email and we'll get you connected). Thank you for your continuing support of this life-changing mission.
