February 4, 2021

Is there more than one way to get to heaven? If we say "Jesus is the only way," isn't it going to sound very narrow-minded, snobbish and exclusive. In a world filled with contradicting ideas, there can only be one truth. What's the difference between Jesus being the "best" way, and him being the only way?

Join us this Sunday as Pastor Eric wraps up the "Asking for a Friend" sermon series with the message exploring the question "Is Jesus the Only Way?"
Worship is streaming at 10:30 AM at live.asburylv.org.

In-Person Worship Gatherings Remain Paused

Church Council is announcing an extension to the suspension of in-person worship services based upon the elevated level of cases of COVID-19 in Lehigh County. The decision included consultation with leadership at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Church Council will continue to evaluate this decision on a two-week basis.

Church Council will be hosting a meeting via Zoom this Sunday, February 7, following the 10:30 AM streaming worship service to share updates on Asbury.

Please visit asburylv.org/ChurchCouncilUpdate to register now. Following registration, you'll receive an email with information on how to join the webinar.

Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent, is a solemn reminder that
"for dust [we] are
and to dust [we] will return." (Genesis 3:19, NIV).
Join us for streaming-only online worship and a drive-thru opportunity to receive ashes (no-contact).
This service will be a time for prayer, confession, and reflection. In past years, it also was a time for receiving the imposition of ashes (the sign of the cross made in ashes on the forehead or hand). The ashes are meant to be a reminder of our mortality and our need for repentance (turning away from our sin). To limit potential exposure, an alternative, no-contact drive-thru option to receive the sign of the cross in ashes will be offered on Tuesday and Wednesday.

How to register for a COVID-19 Vaccine
Update from the Health Ministries Team
The COVID vaccine is currently being administered in our area according to the plan of the PA Department of Health.

For Lehigh Valley Health Network: The first step to getting the vaccine is to enroll in MyLVHN, if you don't already have an account. Everyone with a MyLVHN account will automatically be preregistered for a COVID-19 vaccine. MyLVHN is a free, secure, easy-to-use patient portal that connects you with your personal health information. You do not need to be a current patient of LVHN to open a MyLVHN account. Learn more at LVHN.org/MyLVHN. If you already have an account, make sure all your information is up to date (Log in and click "Menu," "Account Settings," and then edit your personal information). You'll receive a notification when it's your turn to get vaccinated and you are able to schedule your appointment through MyLVHN.

For St. Luke's University Health Network: You can pre-register through St. Luke's MyChart by either logging into your existing account or setting up a new account. Once you get into "My Chart" there is a section at the top of the page that says "Click here to pre-register for your Covid-19 vaccine." You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire and will then be notified when vaccine supplies are able to accommodate your eligibility group.

Another option is to register through the Allentown Health Bureau at www.allentownpa.gov . Click on the section entitled "Covid-19 Vaccine Information. It explains who is eligible to register, based on the Department of Health phase. If eligible, click on the link to register.

If you have questions, need help with pre-registration/registration for the vaccine, or need transportation, please contact the church office, who can put you in touch with the Health Ministries Team.

Asbury's building is currently only open for limited activities. Should you need to gain access to the building, please contact Israel Olivieri, Business Manager, at iolivieri@asburylv.org. The office remains closed, but any phone messages you leave will be answered as soon as possible.
