What does it mean to be deeply committed Christians, growing in faith every day? How do we become fully engaged and flourishing in the Christian life? In this series, we explore a model for Christian discipleship built around five essential practices that we engage in both collectively and individually in order to more fully follow Jesus.

Join us this Sunday as Pastor Barbara continues the sermon series, The Walk: Five Essential Practices of the Christian Life, with the message "Study - The Importance of Listening."

Registration is required. More info and registration at asburylv.org/inpersonworshipregistration. More information about the service is available at asburylv.org/inpersonworship.

Registration for the in-person worship service closes at 12 PM (noon) on Saturday.

Upcoming Events

Asbury's Barrels of Love ministry was started with a book drive by Connie Miller and her daughter Devin 20 years ago! At that time, the end of the civil war in Liberia was in sight and Dr. Chris Hena (who was stationed in Kazakhstan at that time) requested children's
books to replace those destroyed during the war. Several thousand books were collected in that first Barrels of Love shipment.

In March we'll be conducting a 20th anniversary children's book drive for BĂȘte Gbanee School in Paynesville and the Dominic Hena School in Kakata. Please gather new or gently used children's books (no textbooks please). Look to your children for titles they particularly enjoy(ed). Deliver them to the upper parking lot at Asbury on Sunday, March 14 and March 21 between 9 AM and 10:30 AM.

Thank you for sharing the gift of reading with these Liberian children and helping Asbury celebrate 20 years of the Barrels of Love ministry.

Extra parking lot volunteers are needed to help guide traffic for this event. If you're able to assist, contact Laurie Theisen, Director of Lay Ministries, at ltheisen@asburylv.org.

Memeh Bedell made sure our team was healthy and well fed during Asbury's 2010 youth camp and VBS in Lofa County Liberia. Her son, Varney Bedell-Dindo, a third grader at the time, greeted us every with a big smile and was always at his mother's side helping in any way he could. Varney has been a recipient of Asbury's Liberian student scholarships since that time and is now a senior in high school who will graduate this summer.

Varney, we're so proud of you, your accomplishments and the fine young man you have become.

This note was just received from Varney.

I appreciate the Asbury family for all the support toward my life. And a very big thanks to you for always being there for me. May God bless you all.

We hope your child will join us for online Sunday School this week!
