In April's Leadership Ascension Session, the class visited the State Capitol where they met with our local delegation who shared important information on this year’s legislative session. The class also enjoyed a tour of the Capitol and lunch at Speaker Schexnayder’s apartment. The afternoon included a tour of the new courthouse in Gonzales and meetings with Mayor Barney Arceneaux, Mayor Leroy Sullivan, Assessor Mert Smiley and Parish President Clint Cointment. The class ended the day at Sugarfield Spirits where they collected and donated can goods for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank which will be distributed to needy families in Ascension Parish. |
