Monday Evening Bible Study

You are always welcome to join the Monday evening Bible Study. It starts at 6:30 pm, and focuses on New Testament In this study, we are learning how Christian practices developed, conflicts of belief were debated and addressed, the institution of the Church evolved, and Jesus of Nazareth was transformed into the Messiah. Hope to see you there!

Mission of Yahweh Children’s School Clothing Drive

For several years past, your generosity has enabled us to give 50 children at the Mission of Yahweh a great start for the new school year. With all children returning to in person learning, we are again asking you to make this happen. We will collect monetary donations and purchase $50 Wal-Mart gift cards to distribute to the families, giving them the dignity to shop on their own for appropriately sized shoes and clothes for their youngsters. There is no extra shopping on your part; no worries about sizes, styles, or quantity! Simply place your donation in the plate (please mark checks for Mission of Yahweh). Any amount that you can give will be a blessing to these children and their mothers. Let’s send them all back to school with confidence! Contact Michelle Feagin with any questions at [email protected]

You may also contribute through the donate button on the website, just add a message that says "Clothing Drive".

Approx. $50 will sponsor a child. See below:

One more Sunday to sing with the summer choir!

This has been a good summer, we have seen a few new faces in the choir, and there is one more Sunday of the extended invitation to not robe up and come sit with us in the choir loft. There is no weekday evening rehearsal, just come any Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and prepare for worship with us!

Reminder, Wednesday rehearsals will resume Aug 17th.

Don’t forget the flowers!

Sign up to donate flowers each Sunday, by signing the flower chart , which is posted in the narthex, enter your dedication in the book below it, and place your donation in the alms basin or send it to the office, marked flower fund. (The cost is $100, which includes delivery.) All questions can be answered by Ann Burton (713) 782-6572

The Altar Guild needs you!

The altar guild is in desperate need of new members. All are welcome – women, men and teens! Our job is to ready the Church each week for the services and communion and then clean up after the services. It is as easy as following a checklist. Often, teams divide and conquer – some set up while others do the cleanup. Currently, we have four teams, so each serves about once per month. Ideally, we’d like to have more teams. Please email Dana Sutton at [email protected] if you are interested or if you just want to find out more information.

On-Going Ministry

Lunch with Friends

Thank you very much to the men and women who have cook for the residents of the Mission. They appreciate you and we appreciate you. There is always room for more members to join this ministry. They meet the first Saturday of every month at the Mission of Yahweh and are organized by Michelle Feagin. Please contact her for more information and to answer your questions.

Fill the Box

Don’t forget to your non perishable donations for WHAM. Let’s fill the box!  Crackers and cheese, fruit cups, canned meat, and canned ravioli are very helpful items. Canned soup and veggies, PB&J, and rice and beans are always needed staples.

WHAM Recycling Center

The recycling station in the Parish Hall accepts paper and plastic bags, egg cartons, condiments, and individually wrapped plastic ware. These items are donated to WHAM and are an excellent way to keep usable items out of landfills. However, we cannot accept newspapers, aluminum cans or plastic bottles, please do not leave these items to be thrown away. You are encouraged to find other ways to recycle these items.

Give the Gift of Sight

All year long, we collect eyeglasses, cases, sunglasses, frames, and lenses -- all things related to vision for donation.  In late January/early February, Constance O’Brien delivers this year long assembly of eyewear  to the Lion's Club in honor of National Eye Month. These glasses are then repaired and distributed in the US and around the world to those in need. The collection box is located near the WHAM food donation bin.

Please visit the following sites to stay up to date on the activities and on-goings of the ministries we support as they continue their vital missions to help those in need.
