Happenings at Ascension!

Thank you!

To the members of Ascension choir:

We cannot thank you enough for sharing your uplifting talents, which are again a superb addition to this Easter season!

To Dana and all of our altar guild members:

Your dedication is not readily seen as you tirelessly work behind the scenes, every Sunday and non stop through Holy Week. Thank you so very much for all your effort in setting up the altar for each service: changing the hangings, setting communion, marking the various texts, and the many other tasks that are required in worship. Holy Week is especially busy as you make Palm Crosses, arrange the foot washing, strip the altar, and prepare the sanctuary for the Easter with the lilies, the pew torches, etc., all in addition to the “usual” set up. We cannot thank you enough for your dedication to ministry!!

To all who attended the Campus Workday:

Thank you for all your help in beautifying the campus. Thank you Tom for organizing! Thank you to those who cleaned the sanctuary, raked, weeded, and provided lunch.

To all who gave to the Easter Lilies and

supported our Music Ministry:

Your generosity has made the Easter worship service something truly special. Thank you for your dedications and your contributions!

Pray for Us!

Members of St. John the Divine have started an Ascension Prayer team composed of people from SJD and Ascension. They meet in-person at SJD (2450 River Oaks Blvd, Houston, TX 77019) in the Parlor from Noon to 1 pm on Wednesdays starting next week (April 8). All are welcome to join. They are providing a TEAMS link to those who would like to join but can’t do so in-person. Click HERE!!

(Details if you need them: Meeting ID: 281 322 542 840 91, Passcode: ak6fH9ce.)

This is a mission critical piece of renewal and we are really excited!

So many ways to help!!

We will need traffic directors, advertisers, underwriters, night before set-up, coffee wranglers, money takers, booth watchers, and clean-up crew. I'm sure I am missing something, but please ask how you can help. We need all hands on deck to make this a successful endeavor!!

Announcements

We are looking for individuals who will give the announcements on Sunday mornings at the 10:30 service. Simply go to the lectern during the announcement portion of the service and give a brief synopsis of what is going on in Ascension life.   You do not need to read the bulletin to the congregation, just highlight upcoming events and deadlines.

Pictures

Many of you take wonderful pictures of Ascension life. As we move forward in building a profile, we would like to share all the things, special and everyday that we do here at Ascension. Please send any pictures you take of church life to: photos@ascensionepiscopalchurch.org.

It is great to have them all in one place!!
