End of Day Light Savings

Just a heads up, clocks change next Sunday Nov 2 at 2 a.m. They go back an hour. Our cell phones and most cars make the adjustment for us, but for those of us who have analog clocks hanging on the wall, we gotta change them.

(Spring forward, Fall behind)

So many ways to help!!

We have had some amazing volunteers step up, but we need a few more positions filled:

(2) People to help set the parking lot the evening before, November 7.

(1) Person to put out the directional signage up and down Seagler Rd. (Nov 7)

(2) People to help set up in the morning, moving tables, furniture, etc. (Nov 8)

(1) Person to handle food sales

(4) People to help with clean-up

We need all hands on deck to make this a successful endeavor.

Calling All Ascension Kid Bakers!

Join us in the kitchen Friday, November 7, from 6 - 9 p.m. We'll be baking up and packaging goodies to sell during the garage sale - and we'll provide dinner, too! Please bring something you've already prepared, if possible, to ensure we have a variety of treats. RSVP to the office or with Miss Allison at 956.220.2615!

PS: Our congregation is filled with phenomenal bakers. If any grownups would like to contribute treats, we'd love it if you could drop them off Friday evening, already packaged up.

Dog Park Dedication

On November 8th at 11am amidst the garage sale fun, we will hold a dedication ceremony at the dog park and place the brass plaque.

Come support our choir

The Ascension Church Choir will be singing at the 65th Diocesan Choral Festival on Sunday, Nov 17 at 6pm. Please attend and support them! Details listed above.

Harvest Thanksgiving

This November 16th will be our Harvest Thanksgiving Celebration. Somewhat in the nature of the First Fruits Celebration, there will be special music and the bring of gifts to the Altar. We have invitations for you to hand out or mail to your family and friends. We would really love to see the church full of your loved ones on this very special Sunday. Following the service, we will gather in the Parish Hall to enjoy a potluck meal together. Please bring a family favorite to share with your church community.

Upcoming Stewardship

November 9, 16, and 23 will be our stewardship campaign; materials will be available for pickup in the narthex on November 9th, with a special request: wait, listen, and discern. Fr. Desmond will give three special sermons on stewardship in all its forms and then on the 23rd you and your family will be invited to come forward and lay your pledge on the altar.

Pictures

Many of you take wonderful pictures of Ascension life.  As we move forward in building a profile, we would like to share all the things, special and everyday that we do here at Ascension. Please send any pictures you take of church life to: photos@ascensionepiscopalchurch.org.

It is great to have them all in one place!!

Tuesday Evening Bible Study

The Friday night viewing of “The Chosen” has been cancelled. However, they are watching it individually and coming together on Tuesdays to discuss it. Please join them. If you need to know where and when to watch it, stop in, either in person or via Zoom!

We need Live Streamers

The Stream team is desperate for members. If you can operate a smart phone you can operate the streaming software. We will absolutely show you how it works. Please let Samantha (in the office) or John Searle know that you are interested.
