Dear Tory,
Peace and Greetings to You!
It is with great sadness that due to severe snow fronts that are hitting the Greater Milwaukee area, it has been decided to CANCEL the ECUMENICAL ASH WEDNESDAY SERIVCE scheduled for TONIGHT, Wednesday, February 22nd at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
This decision wasn't an easy one to make on behalf of all of the clergy and congregations partaking in this meaningful service, but for the betterment and safety of our congregations and the nature of the severe weather fronts hitting us, it was felt the safety of each of you was the most important things at hand.
While Ash has been a symbol of grief and mourning and has been a symbol of the frailty and finitude of human life (summed up perhaps best in the phrase, ‘Ashes and ashes; dust to dust’). Ash also symbolizes the possibility of transformation and new life.
While this service has been cancelled, I do invite you, as we begin this 2023 Lenten Season, to share and join us in worship as we begin our Lenten Sermon Series: "following the question ..." along with prayerfully engaging in this year's 2023 Lenten Challenge. Information on the Lenten Challenge can be found below, as well as the sermon titles for our Lenten series.
I hope as we come into this season of preparation, you'll make and take the time take part in these outstanding opportunities being offered, as you begin your personal Lenten journey.
In Christ,
