Hello friends!

We are worried about all of you! The vestry, staff, group leaders and volunteers are starting to call folks to check in. While we won't be able to run to the rescue, we will be able to hear one another's voices, inquire about health and safety, pray together and in dire circumstances, get folks connected to the right emergency services. We invite you to do the same, and call or email your church friends, as well as your neighbors. Today the news reports more warming centers are open and to call 311 and they will send someone to pick you up. Please stay warm!

For those who prefer a more personal and interactive service for Ash Wednesday, we will offer this opportunity to gather virtually, via Zoom, for a brief prayer and imposition of ashes service. We have four services with different leaders and music. Register at stdave.org. The Zoom link will be in your confirmation email.

Packet of Ashes
Ashes have been mailed to parishioners. Bring these blessed ashes to one of the premieres of the Ash Wednesday service or to one of the virtual Imposition of Ashes services. At each service, you will have an opportunity to either impose the ashes yourself or with those in your household, while we do so as a virtual community.
Sunday Services – February 21
Liturgy of the Word - First Sunday in Lent
9 a.m.
The church building is closed due to inclement weather so we will not record Sunday's service. Instead we ask you join us on Zoom for The Great Litany. More information will be available on our online worship page at stdave.org.
Lenten Formation Opportunities
Join us for our parish-wide book study, One Church, One Book, as we read Backpacking with the Saints by Belden C. Lane in our Sunday morning adult formation and in three weekday journey groups, each led by clergy or staff. After Easter, on Sunday, April 11, we will have a unique opportunity to participate in a discussion with Belden C. Lane.

We are also painting a temporary parish mural on the retaining wall of the church. All are invited to participate. Details about these opportunities can be found at stdave.org/lent.
Due to winter-weather power outages we will not have a Friday newsletter this week but will return next week with a new St. David's at a Glance. Please follow us on social media for the latest updates.
