Beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Loudoun County Transit will expand service by implementing the following service changes for Transit On Demand in Leesburg and Sterling and commuter bus service into Washington, D.C. 

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has approved the awarding of the county’s annual Restricted Transient Occupancy Tax (RTOT) Tourism Grants for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY 2027). RTOT grants are designed to support local tourism events and initiatives that drive visitors to Loudoun County.

Loudoun County election officials remind voters of important dates, deadlines and information for the upcoming Republican primary election scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Loudoun County has published the 2026 Loudoun County Apartment Guide and a companion online map. The guide includes information about both market-rate and affordable rental options in Loudoun County and is provided in both English and Spanish. The online map is a searchable directory of the communities contained in the guide, including a search-by-school-zone feature, and community amenities such as hospitals, fire and rescue stations, community and senior centers and parks, and public libraries. 

Loudoun County is updating its inventory of stormwater infrastructure, which will improve the county’s ability to accurately assess flood risk, support advanced modeling and inform future land use and stormwater management decisions. 

Loudoun County has scheduled a public meeting about the first phase of the Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP) review to provide members of the community an opportunity to learn more about the review process and submit comments. The in-person meeting will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the multipurpose room of the Douglass Community Center, 407 E. Market St., Leesburg. A recorded presentation and opportunity to comment will be available at loudoun.gov/TransportationPlanReview for those who cannot attend in person.

Loudoun County invites members of the community to attend a design public hearing about the Franklin Park to Purcellville Trail project. The hearing will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the Woodgrove High School cafeteria, 36811 Allder School Road, Purcellville. At this meeting, the public will receive an update on the project, including the proposed design elements, and have the opportunity to provide comments.

Loudoun County invites members of the community to attend a design public hearing on the Traffic Signals at Waxpool Road/Ashburn Road and South Sterling Boulevard/Glenn Drive projects (State Project: 9999-053-299, C501, P101 UPC:127359/County Project: CRCP-2022-0015 and EPLAN-2023-0082) on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Broad Run High School, cafeteria, 21670 Ashburn Road, in Ashburn. More details will be posted soon.”

In observance of National HIV Testing Day, all charges for office visits at the Loudoun County Health Department will be waived for testing of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) during the week of June 22-26, 2026. The Health Department provides confidential testing for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea and hepatitis B&C by appointment Monday-Friday at the Health Clinic located at 102 Heritage Way NE, Suite 100, in Leesburg.

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office (LCFR-FMO) want you and your family to have a safe and memorable Fourth of July holiday. Every year fireworks send adults and children to the emergency room and cause thousands of serious injuries. The safest way to enjoy the holiday is to leave the fireworks to the experts and attend a professionally coordinated fireworks show.

The next Loudoun County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., at Freedom High School, 25450 Riding Center Drive, South Riding. Loudoun residents are welcome to bring HHW from their homes to the event, free of charge. 

Join Loudoun Clerk of the Circuit Court Gary M. Clemens, his Historic Records Team and the Loudoun 250th Committee in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. The Independence Declared event will take place on the courthouse grounds at 18 E. Market St. in Leesburg on Saturday, July 4, 2026, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
