Our wineries, orchards and farms could use your help! After being drawn to Loudoun because of the invasive Tree of Heaven, the also invasive Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) then moves on to grapevines and fruit trees, putting our farms and wineries in jeopardy. Please consider joining 1000 of your fellow Loudouners across 15 locations over two days at the 2025 Scrape for the Grape. The event will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 10AM-1PM and Saturday April 12, 2025, 10AM-1PM.
Why Participate?
- Be part of one of Loudoun’s most popular volunteer events
- 20 locations to pick from, including 12 Wineries, 7 HOAs and Ida Lee Park
- Create awareness of invasive species while helping our rural economy
- Family friendly and fun
- Volunteers receive commemorative t-shirts, scrapers and bandannas
- 20 wineries participating in a "weekend of gratitude", offering special promotions for volunteers
- Mom's Apple Pie is back with special SLF shaped cookies for the kids
Ashburn Village is a proud member of the Loudoun Invasive Removal Alliance (LIRA), and is partnering with Visit Loudoun, the Loudoun Wineries and Winegrowers Association, and the Virginia Cooperative Extension to take action at 2025 Scrape for the Grape. We are delighted that Amazon Web Services is sponsoring this year’s event.
