Our wineries, orchards and farms could use your help! After being drawn to Loudoun because of the invasive Tree of Heaven, the also invasive Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) then moves on to grapevines and fruit trees, putting our farms and wineries in jeopardy.
3/29 was the first Saturday of Scrape for the Grape and it was a huge success, with 400 volunteers (including 46 from Ashburn Village!) removing nearly 120,000 SLF egg sacs at 12 locations. That's over 3.5 million SLF removed from Loudoun!
The last event will be held tomorrow, Saturday, April 12, 2025, 10AM-1PM.
Why Participate?
- Be part of one of Loudoun’s most popular volunteer events.
- 9 locations to pick from, 6 Wineries and 3 HOAs
- Family friendly and fun
- Volunteers receive commemorative t-shirts, scrapers and bandannas
- Wineries are offering a "weekend of gratitude", and Mom's Apple Pie a special cookie for the kids
