Catch and Release Fishing Only

Catch and Release fishing can be enjoyed by our residents and their guests between Dawn and Dusk, with a valid state fishing license. Information on Virginia fishing regulations and licenses can be found on the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries website.

Lately we have received multiple complaints regarding people fishing with coolers and taking the fish. If you see someone taking fish please let us know, as it disturbs the natural ecosystem within the lakes and is against the posted rules.  You can contact us at (703)-723-7910, or avca@ashburnvillage.org.

AVCA Now has a Free On-Site Battery Recycling for Residents

Why should I dispose of batteries properly? The toxic materials within the batteries can be released into the environment and pose serious threats to human health and the environment. If placed in landfills, the toxic materials can leak into the soil, which can then reach our water supply.

Batteries can be dropped off at the AVCA management office Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Dry cell batteries only, including:

  • Alkaline (AAA, AA, C, D, 9 volt, Lantern)
  • Cadmium
  • Iron
  • Lead acid
  • Magnesium
  • Mercury
  • Nickel metal hydride
  • Silver
  • Zinc carbon
  • Lithium batteries
