Bradford Pear Removal Contest
Winner Will Save Thousands!
By the Ashburn Village Landscaping Committee
Bradford pear trees are some of the worst invasive plant species. These trees were planted by developers in HOAs throughout Loudoun in the 1980's-2000s, including our community.
Reasons to remove them include:
- They are bad for you and your family's health (including pets).
- They pose a threat to your safety due to their weak wood structure and heavy limbs. During storms or wind gusts they are prone to splitting, and that's a lot of weight coming down on a person, car, roof, or a power line.
- They are bad for the enviroment because they spread quickly, crowding out native species.
These trees can be one of the most expensive to replace.
Ashburn Village HOA is holding a drawing whereby the grand prize winner will have a Bradford Pear removed and replaced at no cost, with 9 other second-place homeowners winning a free tree inventory and consultation for their yard. Both services are being generously provided by our tree service company, Growing Earth Tree Care. The Bradford Pear can be on your property or on common area near your home.
To enter the drawing, click the button below and provide your name, contact info, address and a photo of the Bradford Pear you'd like replaced. You'll have a choice of a replacement tree from a selection of native trees after your consultation with Growing Care.
Submit your entries by October 15th. Winners will be notified October 22nd!
