FACILITIES & GROUNDS

Projects completed this week by the Facilities and Grounds crew include:

Installed 4 new twenty foot light poles
Installed 1 new thirteen foot light pole
Installed the rest of the snow markers on AVB
Worked on December light sweep list
Removed 6 stumps with the grinder
Replaced old dog station on pavilion parkway
Installed strobe lights on bobcats
Assembled salt spreaders for bobcats

Revised Lower 2023 Assessments

The Board of Directors has approved to lower the 2023 assessments from what was published over the last several weeks. This is due to a recalculation of the reserves contribution which resulted in the need to collect a lower assessment than previously published. Assessments are still going to increase, but a lesser amount than previously announced. Please find the revised dues here and disregard the prior numbers. To view the finance page with the assessments you will be required to login to the website. If you have not yet registered for the website you can do so by clicking here. In addition, for those who already prepaid the 2023 annual assessment in advance for the entire year, we will be issuing refunds of the excess amount. Thank you for your understanding.

Republic Services Yard Waste Pick Up

As of 12/24/2022 Republic Services will no longer be picking up yard waste. Yard waste pick up will resume on 03/01/2023.

Members must have an up to date photo on their account to enter the AVSP. If you enter via the express entry with no photo on file you will be asked to exit and enter through the main lobby entrance. We are working on adding/updating pictures to everyone’s profile, please be patient with us during this process, we appreciate your cooperation.

Donate Your Old Eye Glasses

Help a locally funded and youth run organization, On the Bright Sight On the Bright by dropping off your old prescription eye glasses to the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion.

Indoor Pool Closure Notice

The Indoor Pool will be closed to the public from Monday December 26th-December 30th for maintenance.

Life Fitness Bikes

This week we received the 3 recumbent and 3 upright Life Fitness bikes that we ordered in January. Thank you for your patience! Come take a spin and test them out.

Did you know that AVSP has an online member services portal?

In this portal you can reserve racquet courts, register for group exercise classes, update your credit card and more. Click here to log in. When you login you will be asked for your member number. If you don’t know that, you can call the front desk at 703-729-0581 and they can assist you.

Pickleball News

Pickleball is taking off! We are working with the Racquet Sports Committee on adjusting some of the policies around pickleball play in the gym and in the Village in general. As we prioritize a resident first approach and fair use of all amenities, look for changes and policies coming in the New Year.

Once you download the app, select the check in box then insert your name and put the numbers on your physical pass into the barcode section.
