FACILITIES & GROUNDS

Projects completed this week by the Facilities and Grounds crew include:

Repaired exit signs and outlets in tennis bubble
Installed cameras inside tennis bubble
Flipped up bubble fence panels for the season
Painted spillway railing at Lake Killawog and Pavilion Lake
Installed border and stone around The Woods trash enclosure
Rebuilt bridge 32 with composite lumber
Installed 9 twenty-foot light poles

The AVCA offices will be closed on Friday, November 11th in observance of Veteran's Day.

Republic Services Announces Holiday Pick-up Changes

Thursday, November 24th, Thanksgiving Holiday, no pick-ups. Customers will be serviced on Saturday, November 26th.

A note about Christmas tree collection:

Christmas tree collection will be provided to all homeowners during the first two weeks in the month of January. All trees over 8 feet in length will need to be cut in half and free of ornaments and tinsel/garland before being placed at the curb.

AVSP is hosting a Ladies Doubles and Men’s Doubles Pickleball Tournament on Sunday 12/11 from 8am-12pm. Registration is NOW open for residents, click here for more information and to register.

Donate Your Old Eye Glasses

Help a locally funded and youth run organization, On the Bright Sight On the Bright by dropping off your old prescription eye glasses to the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion.

Did you know that AVSP has an online member services portal?

In this portal you can reserve racquet courts, register for group exercise classes, update your credit card and more. Click here to log in. When you login you will be asked for your member number. If you don’t know that, you can call the front desk at 703-729-0581 and they can assist you.

Angel Tree

Spread the joy this holiday season! Residents can “adopt” a local child from the community and purchase gifts from their wish list. The Salvation Army Angel tree is located in the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion Lobby. Items are due back by December 3rd.

Broad Run High School

On Monday, the BRHS swim team will start hosting practice Monday-Friday from 7am-8am using 4 lanes of the indoor pool. There will be 2 open lanes for residents to use during this time. Go Spartans!

Aftercare

Looking for Aftercare this Fall for your children? Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion has openings and registration has already begun. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 2:45pm-6:00pm. We have bus transportation from Ashburn Elementary, Dominion Trail, and Discovery. We offer afternoon snack, homework help, STEM, outside and gym games provided daily.

New Personal Training Package Now Available: Barbell Basics

Four 30 minute sessions

FRIDAY SHOUT OUTS

Pamela says, "This is just a quick note to let you know that I walked Tippecanoe Lake over the weekend and frankly, I can’t remember a time when the homes on Tippecanoe Terrace that back to the lake have looked so nice. It seemed to me that nearly every rear lot looked well-manicured and attractive. I saw new decks and patios and lots of fresh paint and manicured on-lot landscape. If what I saw was the result of lot inspections and great covenants enforcement, please pass along my genuine thanks. I also saw the landscape planting signage - looked great! Anyway, I wanted you to know how attractive the village is looking – and I know those results aren’t easily obtained without lots of dedication of AVCA staff and leadership."

Pamela says, "Thanks to the outstanding crew of Community Landscape Services who were doing the leaf blowing and pickup on Saxony and London Bridge Terrace this morning (Monday, 11/7). There was a buzz of activity with mowers and blowers -lots of coordination and efficiency. Every trash toter was individually moved when they were blowing so they could seemingly get to every leaf! One of the crew was even nice enough to move my newspaper from the driveway onto my steps when they were blowing my driveway. The neighborhood looked fantastic when they finished! I think CLS does an outstanding job in Ashburn Village and I wanted you know that I appreciate all they do! Many thanks!
