The following report was recently received from the ACCTS Staff who lead our Asia Ministry. As you can see from their report, they disciple, encourage, and mentor military Christians in Asia nations every year.
Like most ministries, 2020 has been an unprecedented year of challenge for ACCTS Asia Ministry. While we have kept in touch via electronic means with many countries, our encouragement ministry is somewhat limited unless we come alongside the Military Christian Fellowships in our region. Thank you for your continued support. Here’s how we used your funds this year and our plans for the future.
$400 - 27-29 Jan 2020 - India
Rather than travel into Bhutan (~$3,000 just for 2 of us plus another $1,000 for seminar/room & board), we conducted training in a border town in India. With the help of MCF-India, a 2 day discipleship program was held at a Christian Retreat Center for 8 Gideon Fellowship (MCF-Bhutan) members, including their president. The total funds used from the Asia Ministry was $400 - this included rental of room, food & lodging for the 8 delegates and all travel costs.
$200 - Early Feb 2020 - South India
I used Asia Ministry Funds to purchase roundtrip air tickets for the MCF-India leader’s travel to South India for ministry to various MCF-India chapters, where he encouraged MCF groups being led by retired NCO’s.
$600 - 9-16 Feb 2020 - Vietnam
I traveled with the Secretary of the Joshua Fellowship (MCF-VN), to 6 cities to meet prospective members and encourage weaker MCF groups. Over 30 people were discipled. The $600 from the Asia Ministry included food & meeting costs for ~30 delegates and travel costs for the MCF secretary.
Goals for 2021, the Lord willing, and country COVID constraints allowing us to enter:
Jan/Feb 21 - Annual Week-Long Discipleship Program for MCF-Laos and Myanmar MCF with MSO
Jan/Feb 21- Encouragement Visits to Southeast Asia MCF’s
Jan 21 - ]Discipleship Training for the Gideon Fellowship (MCF-Bhutan) in India
21-28 Jun 21 - Military Evangelistic Observation (MEO) Program, Seoul, South Korea
Oct 21 - AMCF Interaction East Asia, Taiwan
Nov 21 - Annual Encouragement Visit sto South Asia MCF’s in Bangladesh, India, Nepal & Sri Lanka
Prayer Requests:
That the pandemic will subside so that Asia ministry travel can resume.
Continued health and energy to travel and encourage MCF’s in Asia, once the countries reopen.
Innovative/creative ways to use electronic means to connect/reconnect with groups and individuals during these No-Travel times.
