Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Asia's persecutors: NK, China...and Russia???

On April 2019, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) added Russia to its list of “Countries of Particular Concern” (CPC), a list of countries “whose government engages in or tolerates particularly severe religious freedom violations.”

This rise in Christian persecution is tied to Russia instituting the Yarovaya Law in 2016.

The Yarovaya Law outlawed house churches, forced missionaries to have government permits, and forbid Christians from evangelizing outside of church.

Pastor Tim's Prayer Points
  • Please pray for NK workers in Russia. These are not defectors, but workers who have been sent to Russia to make money for the NK regime. The NK workers in the Maritime Province of Russia have seen their working conditions become particularly bad. They are forced to live in a shipping container which is surrounded by a high iron fence. Pray that God would raise people up in the region to reach out to them and share the gospel with them.

  • Please pray for all of our partners that work in China. Any form of ministry is dangerous in China these days, but North Korean ministry is particularly perilous. One of our partners in China was kidnapped and taken to prison in North Korea in November 2014 and remains there to this day. Please pray that God would keep his hand on each and every one of our partners and their families. They don’t ask for prayer for safety, but rather that they would be able to remain faithful in any situation. Pray that the Lord will make his presence felt by them at every moment.
