ASK YOUR DAD

Show me the path where I should walk, O lord. Point out the right road for me to follow. Psalms 25:4, NLT

I enjoyed giving my children advice when they were young and came to me about a difficult decision they needed to make. But when the decision was of such magnitude that I felt like my advice was not sufficient, I told them to talk to their dad.

As King of Israel, David was tasked with the responsibility of making several difficult decisions and was surrounded by advisors who offered him advice on what to do. But he understood their counsel wasn’t enough; sometimes the decision he needed to make was of such magnitude that he had to seek greater advice; advice he could only get from his father above.

I'm thankful for earthly fathers and for the guidance and advice they provide us as their children. But when their counsel is not enough, the Word of God reminds us that we also have a heavenly father, one who promises to take care of us and provide us with the guidance needed to live the life he has called us to live.

Are you feeling lost on the journey of life today? Not sure which way to go or which road to take? Ask your heavenly father for His direction about what to do. Like a good earthly father, He will never lead you the wrong way.

Sharing the Word,

Jeaninne

Today's Prayer: Father, thank you for being my heavenly father, one I can always go to when I need guidance and direction. Amen.
