State Budget Update  -- 

There has been no activity yet on the budget conference dates and appointees who will work out the differences in what the Senate and House propose for Florida's FY 2019-20 budget; BUT when conference begins, budget deliberations will go very quickly.    FCA will alert you when the budget-conference process is scheduled to begin.

to ask their chamber leaders for the following appropriation requests, please do it now:
 


GENERAL ASKS -- edit to fit your specific ask/s:

Florida's U.S. ranking went from a #10 to #48 -- help restore Florida to a respectable national ranking:

Ask your legislators to ask their respective chamber leaders to allocate appropriations that will RESTORE a total of $43 million -- the appropriations the state invested in FY 2014-2015 -- to the following Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs' well-vetted, recommended matching-grant categories:

Budget line item #3201:  increase to at least $27,593,312 for Cultural and Museum Grants that would provide about 65.5% of what each of the 478 well-vetted, recommended grant applicants qualify for in this category.

Budget line item #3200A -- maintain current House and Senate recommendation of $2,980,028 for Culture Builds Florida matching grants that would fully fund all 132 well-vetted grants in this category.

Budget line item #3207A -- provide $12,499,777 for Cultural Facilities Matching Grants that would fully fund all 37 well-vetted, recommended matching grants in this category.
