September's Tip
Reach out via Research Guides
AskAway can be a complement to research guides. While guides are designed to be self-service, having additional support available via chat can help students move forward with their research if they get stuck and help them learn how to use guides and recommended resources more effectively.

AskAway entry points in research guides should be:
  • above the fold
  • visually distinct from page content
  • ideally available on both the research guides starting page and in individual guides

AskAway widgets can be added to LibGuides or your library's CMS using the chat snippet embed code.

See examples from Columbia College Library and TRU Library.
Testing and Support

Take a moment to test new entry points – do they display and work as expected when the service is both online and offline?

For questions and implementation support, contact the Admin Centre!
