WE DID IT!
None of us quite knew what to expect on opening day, as the sun shone brightly on the Delaware, and the falls roared in the background. Our farmers scurried about stacking produce, and bakers piled their display cases with still-warm bread.

We stood at the confluence of two beautiful rivers and silently wondered to ourselves, will they come? Though we were just a few blocks from the Circle, everything felt different. We were feeling the weight of so much change.

But soon enough, Larry Holmes Drive began to fill with shoppers - and we all breathed a collective sigh of relief as folks lined up, market bags in hand. Though so much had changed, the sprit of EFM remained. It may have been under masks, and held at a six foot distance, but it was there. In all of you. With your patient smiling eyes, and your words of thanks and encouragement. You were there to support our farmers and buy the food you love and trust. And though the waits were far longer than we would have liked, and we all felt like we were riding a bike for the first time, we did it. You did it. And we THANK YOU.

We know everything wasn't perfect, and when we return to the riverfront tomorrow, you'll encounter some positive changes. We listened to your feedback and worked hard to improve the market's layout and flow. We'll maintain two entrances and exits but there will be a continuous path that will take you through the entire market, and you can loop around as many times as you like. We've spread out a bit more, created merge lanes and improved signage. And there will be no waiting in a second line. We're asking folks to shop alone, if possible, but pairs are fine too. We'll wear our masks to protect you, and ask that you wear
your masks to protect us. Maintain six-foot distancing and enjoy your shopping trip. Our wish is that you'll not only feel safe, but also feel a little bit of the normalcy that we're all craving right now.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
