Be Happier & Less Anxious with 7 Minutes a Day  by Dr. Jill Carnahan

Sometimes I feel as though science is catching up with ancient truth. Studies on meditation and prayer continue to build upon what religious leaders have been saying for centuries.

Mindfulness is a mental state where a person is focusing on the present moment. Mindfulness includes a number of practices, but meditation is perhaps the most common form. Meditation includes many different types of techniques that help a person achieve a clear or calm state of mind. Mindfulness has been used for thousands of years in religious traditions, but recently it's had a rebirth in mainstream culture.

I think the rebirth of mindfulness is incredibly important for people today because we lead busier lives, saturated with stimuli which is arguably contributing to higher rates of depression and anxiety. Mindfulness meditation has been shown to  reduce anxiety, improve stress reactivity, and increase overall life satisfaction. AND it's good for your immune system!

Ways Mindfulness Meditation Boosts Your Immune System
              1. Reduce circulating inflammatory proteins
              2. Regulate cellular transcription factors and gene expression
              3. Boost immune cell count
              4. Reduce immune cell aging
              5. Regulate antibody response

So if you want to feel happier and less anxious - it's time you added mindfulness to your day.

Broccoli Shows Major Healing Potential
  • C
ruciferous veggies such as broccoli, cabbage, collards, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower contain plant compounds that are important for optimal health, including chemoprotective compounds
  • One of the most well-known of these is sulforaphane. Sulforaphane supports normal cell function and division while causing programmed cell death in colon, liver, prostate, breast and tobacco-induced lung cancer
  • Indole-3 carbinol (I3C), is another. In your gut, I3C is converted into diindolylmethane, which boosts immune function and plays a role in the prevention and treatment of cancer
  • Recent research found mice fed an I3C-rich diet had healthier guts and were less likely to develop inflammation and colon cancer
  • I3C activates a protein called aryl hydrocarbon receptor, which communicates with immune and epithelial cells in your gut lining and prevents inflammation caused by unfriendly bacteria

Liposomal Vitamin C by Dr. Joseph Mercola

I cannot stress enough the importance of getting adequate amounts of vitamin C through a diet rich in vegetables. And when necessary, complement your diet with a high-quality vitamin C supplement.

Remember, vitamin C is an important antioxidant that is a major electron donor in your body's battle against oxidation... to help maintain optimal electron flow in your cells... and to help protect vital elements in your body like proteins and lipids.*

With marginal deficiency rates reported as high as 33% in the US and Canada, this "grandfather" of traditional antioxidants should not be taken lightly.
