Construction is starting on Aspen Street, as funded through general obligation bond 20-351.
What is happening?
Aspen Street between Tamarack Street and Centennial Boulevard is a minor collector street serving Centennial Elementary School and the surrounding neighborhood. The street surface needs repaired, so we are grinding it down and adding a new layer of pavement to extend its lifespan and help avoid a more costly rebuild later. Additional improvements include raised crosswalks, curb ramp upgrades to improve accessibility and meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, and a wastewater pipe extension for future neighborhood tie-ins.
When will the work happen?
Construction is expected to begin the week of June 15, 2026. Most work is anticipated to be completed by September 4, 2026, before the start of school, with the full project scheduled for completion by October 31, 2026.
How will this affect me?
Local access to homes will be maintained during construction, though temporary lane closures, driveway closures, and no parking zones will occur. You may experience changes to normal travel routes, along with construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be provided before any driveway, parking, or lane closures.
