Let's keep the positive energy rolling! We are more inspired than ever to make the second half of summer even better than the first.

This week, campers will learn all about confidence and believing that you can do what you set your mind to.
Little Ones Can Make a Big Difference
This week at camp, we're focusing on giving back to our community through our annual Campers for a Cause fundraiser. Each child has the opportunity to fundraise for Summer Day Camp scholarships by collecting as many donations as possible. Here’s how it works:

  • Campers have donations made online on behalf of their group. Each day, the leading group will be shared with the camp community. Plus, this year only, you can double your impact. Every dollar donated will be doubled by the George E. and Annette C. Murphy Charitable Fund.*

  • The group that raises the most money will be announced Friday at pick-up.

  • The top-fundraising group will be rewarded with a very special field trip.

*Contributions are doubled up to $60,000. With each donation, please select your camper's group in order to count toward their group total.
Value of the Week:
Confidence
Asphalt Green empowers campers to feel comfortable in their own skin. Believe you can achieve what you set your mind to and persevere when challenges arise.

"Camp is so much fun and I love getting to swim in the pool! I just learned how to swim using kickboards in shallow water. I also tried baseball for the first time, and I really liked it. I like flag football too!"

"I'm having a ton of fun at camp so far! Our trip to LEGOLAND® was so much fun! I also really like playing gaga ball and swimming. Oh, and the turkey tacos at lunch! They’re the best."

"This is my second summer at camp, and my favorite activities are swimming and getting to go on the water slides! There are so many things I love about camp like my group, getting to eat popsicles, and having fun with my friends. I’m also really looking forward to the talent show."

"This is my second time at summer camp and I’m looking forward to the talent show the most. I can’t wait to do our dance! I also love playing gaga ball and getting to go on the trips this summer. The best part about my group is that everyone cheers for me and they’re respectful and kind."

"This is my eighth year at camp, and I always love seeing my old friends and making new ones. I’ve also always loved the sports and activities like martial arts! This year though, I’m so excited for the trips and overnights. Rocking Horse Ranch was amazing! We bungee jumped, played laser tag, and went swimming and horseback riding!"

"This is my first year as a Leader in Training, and I think my group and the counselors are the best. We have great conversations and learn what to do in different scenarios at camp. Overall, camp is a ton of fun because I get to meet other people, and I can’t wait for the carnival!"
Annie Robertson
LIT Division Leader
This is my first year at Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp! I love seeing young people learn and have fun together without the pressures of school and with the benefits of being outdoors. My favorite camp memory is meeting my wife at the summer camp where we worked; we're seriously a summer camp family! This summer, I'm looking forward to seeing my LITs grow and learn together. A fun fact is that although I'm a camp division leader and a high school teacher, my main career is being a poet!
