Aspire Hosts Summer Teacher Field Trips

Aspire Johnson County, in partnership with area schools, is hosting a series of three teacher field trips this summer. Sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College, these free, in-person tours are designed for middle school teachers, high school teachers, and school counselors interested in exploring the variety of careers available to students in Johnson County. The first field trip of the summer, which took place on June 6, showcased careers in manufacturing.

Preparing for the FTC’s Noncompete Ban

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued a final rule that will ban most noncompete clauses starting September 4, 2024, with exceptions for senior executives and specific situations like the sale of a business. Employers are expected to notify employees that existing noncompete agreements will not be enforced and Tilson HR recommends preparing for compliance by auditing and updating policies and agreements.
