Major improvements to highly-traveled Emerson Avenue from Southport Crossing (first street south of Southport Road) to Stop 11 Road are now underway and will include a new four-lane bridge over I-65. A second phase, set to begin in the fall, will make improvements from Stop 11 to County Line Road. These projects will complete a multi-year effort to improve Emerson from Beech Grove to County Line.
INDOT recently closed the South Madison Avenue bridge over I-465 for demolition and replacement. In addition to the detour for Madison Avenue, drivers should seek alternate routes on I-465 between State Road 76/Kentucky Avenue and I-65 during nighttime delays.
The final days of the 2022 Indiana General Assembly session are upon us. The session is scheduled to conclude March 14, but we believe session might conclude early this week. So where are we? Considering the priority bills and issues Aspire has been tracking, we feel we are in a good place.
