Aspire Leads Workshop for Local Officials

Elected and appointed officials from across Johnson County recently participated in an invitation-only virtual workshop on economic development hosted by Aspire. Elected and appointed officials from Johnson County, Bargersville, Franklin and Greenwood participated. Aspire hosted the program for leaders to meet experts active in the economic development industry and ask questions about economic development tools and processes.

FCC Awards $9.2 Billion for Broadband Internet Service to Americans Without Access

The largest award cycle ever, funding will help launch satellites and infrastructure to expand service to “unserved and underserved” Americans. Aspire recently identified broadband internet expansion as a top legislative priority for Indiana.

Discussion but No Consensus in DC on Liability Reform

One of the toughest relief package components Congress has yet to agree upon is COVID liability reform for employers and businesses. The Senate has had “robust” discussion of ideas but not yet reached consensus. In anticipation of no action from Congress, Aspire has been working with Indiana House and Senate leadership on a bill for Hoosier businesses. Politico has more on DC discussions.
