Concerts on the Square

Associate Chief Nursing Officer Robin Rudie helped Wausau Events kick off the Concerts on the Square June 21.

Members of the Aspirus Joy Team were present to paint faces and spread a little joy to the community.

The AWH Stroke Team will be present at the next event.

Concerts are every Wednesday evening until August 30 on the 400 Block in Wausau and are free to attend.

There are a few dates open for activities. Please email Andrew Krauss if you would like to staff the tent with an activity.

Organ and Tissue Donation Recognition

AWH was recognized by the University of Wisconsin Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD) for its ongoing commitment to saving and improving lives through organ and tissue donation.

AWH received the Bronze Award of Hope and the Tissue Excellence Award.

The Award recognizes the comprehensive work of hospitals that achieve or exceed goals that maximize the gift of life. The two measurements for receiving the award are the true conversion rate and organs transplanted per donor.

Eighteen hospitals were recognized by UW OTD this year for their ongoing commitment to saving and improving lives through organ and tissue donation.

Sunflower Award Winner - Kelsee Wolfgram

HUC Kelsee Wolfgram is the most recent Sunflower Award Winner at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Kelsee was nominated by a co-worker who was transporting an elderly couple and needed help getting them to the cafeteria.

Kelsee graciously volunteered to help. She then made herself available again to transport the couple across the hospital.

The couple was very grateful for their assistance and making their trips fun.

The Sunflower Award is a recognition program specifically for support staff for demonstrating compassion, accountability, collaboration, foresight and joy in patient care.

Star Art Program

The student art wall outside the employee entrance on the Northwest side of the hospital (Entrance B) was recently updated with the 2023 winners.

The Star Art Program is an annual art contest for local high school students presented by the Aspirus Volunteers. The top three winners are awarded scholarships.
