AMR Receives 2023 Crystal Vision Award

Since 2007, the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin has honored advocates of donation who have shown commitment and dedication to raising awareness and educating communities on the importance of eye donation. AMR is the 2023 Crystal Vision Award recipient!

In 2022, Aspirus Merrill Hospital donors provided sight to an estimated eight recipients in Wisconsin, the United States, and worldwide.

Katie Schara from the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin presented the award to the MedSurg and ED staff.

AMR DAISY Award Winner

Congratulations to Angela Harder for being chosen as the most recent winner of the Aspirus Merrill Hospital DAISY Award.

The DAISY Award recognizes the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. These nurses exceed the needs and expectations of patients and families by displaying our core values: Compassion, Accountability, Collaboration, Foresight and Joy.

Good Catch Award - AMR

Registered Nurse Samantha Switlick is the most recent Good Catch award recipient at Aspirus Merrill Hospital.

Valerie was asking a patient about their area of injury and compared it to the order. She noticed the laterality ordered did not match what the patient stated. Val clarified this, got the order corrected, and performed the correct imaging. Her actions prevented any harm to the patient.

The Good Catch award is based upon a commitment to high-reliability principles for safety and is intended to bring awareness to preventable situations.

AMR Culture Club Event

The Aspirus Merrill Hospital Culture Club sponsored a River Bend Trail stroll/soup/s'more event on September 28.

Employees set out on a brisk walk on the beautiful River Bend Trail, and then enjoyed a variety of soups all delicious!

They finished off the evening by toasting marshmallows for s’mores.

It was a great evening, and employees who participated earned Rewards & Recognition points as well!
