Excellence In Action Team on a Roll with Hot Dog Day

National Hot Dog Day was held Wednesday, July 15, and the North Division Excellence In Action Team celebrated by hosting events across the region.

The cafeterias had stadium food on their menus, including hot dogs with all the fixings and pretzel bites with cheese. Frankly, they were delicious, and we relished every bite! Employees also enjoyed free popcorn and the opportunity to dress in sports team gear and jeans.

Ron Jesse from the HYMC and ARN Dietary Departments purchased a hot dog costume and visited employees and patients in Eagle River, Woodruff and Iron River, Mich. He also visited the Aspirus MedEvac crews from Crystal Falls, Mich. Ron always brings a smile and joy to those he interacts with while wearing his creative costumes.

A special thanks to our Dietary Team for their efforts and to Ron for showcasing his newest costume!

Do you have an idea for a special day our teams should celebrate, or are you interested in joining the Excellence In Action team? Contact matthew.thompson@aspirus.org for more information.

Eucharist Volunteers Return to HYMC

In late June, eight eucharist volunteers from Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff completed their volunteer requirements. They began visiting patients at Howard Young Medical Center on July 10.

The Eucharistic ministers bring to patients both compassion and a connection to church community. These ministers offer prayer, the comfort of Scripture, Holy Eucharist, and a caring connection to those who are hospitalized and unable to attend a church service.

Three of them Tom, Joan and Bob are pictured. Please help us welcome them back to HYMC.

Town Halls at HYMC Moved to August 9

The North Division Town Halls at Howard Young Medical Center have been moved from July 26 to August 9.

Leaders will be hosting in person Town Halls at Howard Young Medical Center on Wednesday, August 9, from 7:15 - 8 a.m. and 10:45 - 11:30 a.m., in Conference Rooms 2/3 near the cafeteria.

The Town Halls will provide updates on a number of important topics. Employees are encouraged to attend at least one session during the Town Halls.

Personal Money Advice Sessions in Tomahawk on Aug. 3

North Division Trivia Answer

Last we asked how many patients did our Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital ED/UC see during the four-day Hodag Country Music Festival in Rhinelander from July 6-9?

The answer was 236. Congrats to everyone who guessed the correct number!
