ALH Welcomes First Baby of 2024

The first Baby of the New Year was born at Aspirus Langlade Hospital on Tuesday, January 2.

Alessia Rose Bauknecht was born at 8:08 a.m. to Michalie Bauknecht and Collin Wilson of Antigo. She is the second daughter to Michalie and checked in at 5-pounds 9-point-two ounces and 18.5 inches long.

Naming a newborn is a key step in welcoming the littlest and latest addition to the family. There are thousands of names for parents to choose from, but in the end, each name given to a child is special and unique, as they carry it with them throughout their life.

From January 1 to December 26, 2023, the Aspirus Health System welcomed 2,881 babies into the world. In total, 1,517 different names were given to those newborns. Aspirus gathered the most popular baby names given throughout the system. Here are the top baby names of 2023.

Tips for shopping “green” when getting groceries

Keep the environment in mind when making product selections. When it comes to groceries, we are all looking to save time and money. But don’t forget about our environment. There are simple steps you can take to shop green when selecting products:

  • Follow your grocery list to help avoid impulsive purchases.
  • Pick less than perfect produce – it tastes the same and can avoid unnecessary food waste at the grocery store.
  • Try methods for making coffee and tea that reduce waste.
  • Limit buying aerosol sprays.
  • Keep your kitchen and refrigerator clean with natural cleaners.
  • Check the expiration, sell, and use-by dates and know the true lifecycle of food, as many of those dates are just “suggested” guides.
  • If you consume a lot of a particular item, buy it in bulk. Don’t buy more than you need unless you can use the ingredients before they go bad or can freeze them for later. Some stores offer a bulk refill section for pantry staples like grains and coffee.
  • Bring your own reusable bags. This helps reduce waste. Keep your reusable bags in a handy spot at home or your car so you don’t forget them.

Don't Forget: Fill out a Marketing Communications Request

Do you need help with graphic design, website update, print, intranet, video or communication needs? There is an ONLINE FORM AVAILABLE ON THE INTRANET TO REQUEST SUPPORT FROM MARCOM. This request form should be used to request marketing support for any items not available in the Aspirus Brand Center (i.e. biocards, business cards, letterhead etc).

It is crucial everyone needing Marcom support complete the marketing request form available on the Aspirus intranet. This is the most efficient way for Marcom to prioritize and manage projects and leverage the skills and experience of team members. It also helps ensure Marcom provides you the best possible service.

Look for the Marketing, Communications, Graphic/Print Support link under “Service Requests” within the Work Tools & Resources menu.

Aspirus News Now items can be submitted via the Aspirus intranet. Deadline is end-of-day Friday for the following week.
