Happy Holidays!

Our Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital laboratory team recently got creative with some empty styrofoam supply containers and stickers.

Thank you for sharing your holiday cheer!

Best wishes to all

for a wonderful 2023!

Because we love, we lead.

Every day, we show compassion for our patients, their loved ones, and one another. Below are a few recent examples from our intranet's Recognition Wall. To recognize a co-worker or view more staff recognitions, click here.

Caryn Firkus, Med/Surg, Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital

You were recognized by three patients during patient rounding. They all said you are kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and you listen to them. One mentioned you never seem rushed even if they knew you were busy. So happy you are a part of the Med/Surg team!

Jenny Blenker, Emergency, Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital

Jenny ~ Congratulations on completing our trauma survey! I know it was challenging and nerve-racking! You did a fantastic job, and I am so proud of you and our program. It is only successful because of the work that you do every day! Thank you for supporting me and this department.

Amanda Meyer, Radiology, Aspirus Plover Clinic

Thank you for your continued support, dedication and leadership of your team and work environment. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Charleen Symmank, Aspirus Riverview Dental Clinic

Thank you, Char, for all of the hard work decorating the dental clinic. Your beautiful decorations and talents are bringing such joy to the patients and staff during the holiday season. I was so impressed with all that you did. Thanks for taking on all the extra work. Merry Christmas to you!!

Safety Tip

Critical Results

Tips

What: National Patient Safety Goal 2 requires that critical results of tests and diagnostic procedures be reported on a timely basis.

Why: Critical results of tests and diagnostic procedures fall significantly outside the normal range and may indicate a life-threatening situation. The goal is to provide the responsible licensed caregiver these results within an established timeframe so the patient can be promptly treated.

Proper documentation of receiving and reporting these results is critical for regulatory compliance. The Critical Results Flowsheet will guide you to document all the necessary components. Please ensure you are documenting when you received the results and who/when you reported it to. Below is an example of thorough documentation.
