Inpatient Hospital Care Update for Stevens Point/Plover

mportant

Since last year’s acquisition, Aspirus has established a robust array of access points to serve Stevens Point, Plover and the surrounding communities. To be good stewards of our resources and to serve our patients in the best way possible, we will be consolidating inpatient hospital services at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital and strengthening existing Emergency Department, physician services and ambulatory surgery services at Aspirus Plover Hospital.

Effective Tuesday, November 29, all Aspirus inpatient hospital services in the Stevens Point and Plover area will be provided at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.

Aside from inpatient hospital care, Aspirus Plover Hospital will continue to offer all current services, including emergency and urgent care, primary and specialty physician care, outpatient surgery, laboratory and imaging services, and select rehabilitation and therapy services. Aspirus Plover Hospital remains an integral resource for our patients in the region.

We value every member of the Aspirus care team, and Human Resources representatives will be meeting individually with each affected employee to identify alternate roles within the system. There are many options close by.

Thank you to all members of the Aspirus Plover team for your hard work and support during this transition.

Greeter & Volunteer Responsibilities at Aspirus Stevens Point

Be in the Know

The following is to help employees understand what our Greeters’ and Volunteers’ roles are in the Main Entrance Lobby at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.

The Greeters are present to help visitors into wheelchairs once they are in the facility. They are there to offer wayfinding, answer general visitor questions and help direct traffic to maintain flow and avoid hang ups.

The Volunteers are present to transport visitors/patients to their appointments and direct them to patient floors. They also do pharmacy and lab runs. They keep a log of transports and call for patient pick up from our medical transport companies and taxis. They also deliver personal belongings and flowers to patients.

Neither the Greeters nor the Volunteers are to go outside the building to move patients or help get patients out of their cars. All their work should be happening within our building.
