AIW Thanks Longtime Board Member

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital & Clinics extends a special thank you to Jim Lorenson for his service on the Aspirus Ironwood Hospital & Clinics and the Aspirus Health UP Regional Board for 18 years. 

During this time, Lorenson helped ensure Aspirus Ironwood Hospital and the other UP Aspirus Health facilities and services were positioned to continue providing health care services to our communities.  

"Jim has made significant contributions throughout his board tenure, all of which benefited the communities we serve," said Paula Chermside, Chief Administrative Officer Aspirus Ironwood Hospital & Clinics. "We offer our sincere thanks on behalf of our organization as well as our dedicated physicians and staff."

Aspirus Keweenaw Provides Outreach at Veterans Fair

Thank you to Christina Verran, Supervisor-Nursing, and Caitlin Bukovich, Fitness Coordinator, for representing Aspirus Keweenaw at the first-ever Houghton County Veterans Fair held August 2. According to Joe Battisfore, Director of the Veteran Service Office, the event was very successful, and veterans were appreciative of the wide range of vendors/service providers and information made available to them.

Regulatory Tip of the Week: Obstructed Panels

In our ongoing effort to promote patient safety and regulatory readiness at Aspirus Divine Savior, here is the “TIP of the WEEK."

WHAT: Organizations are commonly cited for equipment, carts, or supplies blocking medical gas

panels and electrical panels.

WHY: Panels that may need to be accessed in an urgent or emergent situation need to have the area in front and to the side of them clear and unobstructed. Having to move anything out of the way can delay being able to turn off the electricity or medical gas, leading to harm to patients or staff.

CALL TO ACTION: Do not place carts, equipment, supplies, etc., in front of any panels.

Don't Forget: Fill Out a Marketing/Communications Request

Do you need help with graphic design, website update, print, intranet, video or communication needs? There is an ONLINE FORM AVAILABLE ON THE INTRANET TO REQUEST SUPPORT FROM MARCOM. This request form should be used to request ANY marketing support.



It is crucial everyone needing Marcom support complete the marketing request form available on the Aspirus intranet. This is the most efficient way for Marcom to prioritize and manage projects and leverage the skills and experience of team members. It also helps ensure Marcom provides you the best possible service. 

Look for the Marketing, Communications, Graphic/Print Support link under “Service Requests” within the Work Tools & Resources menu.
