Aspirus Iron River Team to Present at ACS Clinic Congress | |
|
Team members from Aspirus Iron River Hospital will be presenting at the American College of Surgeons’ (ACS) Clinical Congress 2022 in San Diego, California (October 16-20).
Dr. Medhat Fanous (pictured) is the Surgical Skills Chair and Course Director for "Building a Comprehensive Anti-reflux Center with Diagnostic and Therapeutic Capabilities in a Rural Setting." Dr. Fanous arranged for surgeons from around the country to take part in presenting the course and for some of the Aspirus Iron River team to speak and run skills sessions.

Aspirus MedEvac Meet and Greet a Great Success | |
On Saturday, October 8, Aspirus Keweenaw held an informative meet and greet with Aspirus MedEvac. This was an opportunity to meet the dedicated teams who provide 24-hour emergency air and ground transport. The community enjoyed the Aspirus MedEvac helicopter landing, one-on-one discussions with the flight crew, tours, touch-a-truck with Laurium and Calumet Township's fire departments, smokehouse, snacks, giveaways and education information. | |

Scott Novascone Promoted to Nursing Supervisor | |
|
Scott Novascone, RN, has accepted the position of Supervisor - Nursing for ER and ICU for Aspirus Ironwood Hospital effective September 25, 2022. Scott has been with Aspirus since 1999.
In this role, Scott will directly supervise the ER and ICU unit nurses and will report directly to Deb Trekas, Manager - Inpatient and Emergency Nursing.
Scott has been the night-shift house supervisor for the last year. Prior to that, he worked in different nursing capacities throughout his career, including ICU transfer RN, emergency department RN, registered respiratory therapist and Manager of Patient Care at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.
Scott lives in Bessemer, MI. He enjoys hunting, fishing and family activities.
We are excited to have Scott join our leadership team. Please join us in congratulating Scott on this new position.
