Patient Safety Tip
Obstructed Panels & Medical Gas
| |
What: Organizations are commonly cited for equipment, carts, or supplies blocking medical gas panels and electrical panels.
Why: Panels that may need to be accessed in an urgent or emergent situation need to have the area in front and to the side of them clear and unobstructed. Having to move anything out of the way can delay being able to turn off the electricity or medical gas leading to harm to patients or staff.
Call to Action: Do not place carts, equipment, supplies, etc., in front of any panels or medical gas outlets.

Congrats to Our Certified Quality Breast Center |
Congratulations to our Aspirus Stevens Point Breast Care Center team for once again achieving the status of a Certified Quality Breast Center.
The National Consortium of Breast Centers recognizes centers that achieve quality performance and that make a vigorous voluntary effort to provide the best patient care possible.
Our Breast Care Center provides everything patients need in one convenient location on ASP's first floor. The center's nurse practitioner and nurse navigators work with our imaging, surgery, and oncology staff to provide patient-centered care for all breast concerns, including: breast lumps, pain, infection and skin concerns, high risk/family history consultations, screening and diagnostic imaging, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and comprehensive breast cancer care in a multidisciplinary approach.
