Assessment Information & Guidelines

Dear Families of Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Students,

Semester two final assessments for the Classes of 2026-2028 are Monday, May 19, through Thursday, May 22. Assessments are administered by academic discipline as outlined below. Study Halls are not in session during assessment week.

Written final assessments are completed during the scheduled day and class period listed above unless prior arrangements are made with the Assistant Principal of Academic Life. Teachers provide room assignments for traditional final assessments.

Project-based final assessments are completed as directed by teachers for that specific class. At the teacher's discretion, students do not attend school during this academic discipline time-block.

Students not enrolled in a class within an academic discipline do not attend school during that time-block. Example: Students not enrolled in World Language should make arrangements to arrive for their Science assessment by 9:25 a.m.

Students enrolled in more than one class in a specific academic discipline are assigned an alternate location to complete all their assessments on the scheduled day. Students should plan to stay longer than the 10:40 a.m. dismissal to allow adequate time to complete multiple assessments. Example: Students enrolled in two math courses and one English course will complete all three traditional assessments on Tuesday, May 20, from 8:00 a.m.-Noon. Short breaks included.

Entry Doors: Doors 4, 12, and 19 are open 7:00 a.m.-8:15 a.m. Students arriving for the 9:25 a.m. assessment enter only through Door 4.

Carpools: Students are advised to discuss their schedule with their carpools. The Student Union is open for students waiting for rides or arriving early.

Assessment days are “Dress Down” days. Follow guidelines for the regular “Outta-Uniform” days. Remember the purpose of the day is academics.

The Student-Parent Portal is deactivated beginning with the first assessment on Monday, May 19, and reactivated at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29.
