Assisting Families in Need

Sandra, a 54-year-old woman, and her two college aged children are long-time residents of the City of Carlsbad. The pandemic caused Sandra to lose hours at her job, which led to loss of income and housing. Eventually, Sandra was living in her car. A few months later, Sandra was connected to Community Resource Center and was provided with job and housing resources by her case manager.

Because of CRC, Sandra found full-time employment and steady income. She was able to secure housing in a neighboring city with CRC’s help. CRC provided her with deposit assistance, short-term rental assistance, move-in items and other supportive services. Sandra and her children have found stability thanks to CRC.

CRC’s homelessness prevention programs provide assistance to help you remain in your home. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please contact Integrative Services at [email protected] or call (760) 753-8300.

Visit our Resale Stores
Our Resale Stores are open for shopping and donations. Great new items are added to our inventory every day and we do not charge sales tax. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see some of the items currently at our stores.

Whether you shop or donate, your support helps our community. CRC Resale Stores generate critical funds to help people in our community recovering from domestic violence, hunger and homelessness. We also select items from our stores to furnish transitional and permanent housing for our participants.
Promoting Philanthropy to the Next Generation
Lane Kiefaber has a heart for philanthropy and wants to share that heart with others. She recently did a two day "camp" with 6 middle school girls to discuss ways to give back to their community. The girls identified the three areas they most cared about: animal welfare, homelessness, and the environment. A CRC representative was invited out to talk about the complex path to homelessness, the work that CRC does with those experiencing or in danger of experiencing homelessness, and then the ways the girls could respond. The girls chose to do a food drive in their community and all learned the power of compassion and a smile to return dignity to someone struggling.
