Our long awaited "Centennial Organ" will be dedicated with great joy during 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday, April 19! On the preceding Friday night, April 17, at 7:30 p.m., guest organist Ken Cowan of Rice University will give a recital. He will offer a masterclass on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m., and will then perform an encore recital on that Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. followed by a reception in Frampton Fellowship Hall. All events are free and open to the public. See our organ page for details!

Associate Pastor Search: Your Input Welcome

As we as a congregation reflect on the job description for the Associate Pastor position, the Personnel Committee of the Session also seeks feedback and further response from the congregation. We have an opportunity to make adjustments in the job description and to make changes as we seek to serve the whole of the church's ministry in this next season. Please pass along any reflections and feedback to Gillian Egan, Personnel Committee Chair, at gillian.w.egan@gmail.com. The Associate Pastor has primary responsibilities in leading and serving the church's community ministry, global ministry, community outreach efforts, RHINO Disaster Response Team efforts, the Aden Program, and community partnerships like STAIR, Café Reconcile, Program of Hope, etc. The Associate Pastor also supports churchwide volunteer opportunities and partnerships with community and global partners and their evaluation and outcome assessment. The Associate Pastor also supports the Membership Committee and works to help engage newcomers to our church, especially young adults, as we seek to engage and support those members of the SCAPC community. The Associate Pastor also preaches and leads worship regularly and works with the Senior Pastor and Parish Associate to support pastoral and congregational care and congregational fellowship events on Sundays and Wednesday Nights. In addition to these areas, please pass along other areas of suggested focus and support to Gillian Egan.

PW Easter Egg Hunt Needs Donations & Volunteers

Join us for the fabulous annual Presbyterian Women’s Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 29, at the home of Louellen and Darryl Berger across the street! Help us prepare with donations of items, time, and talents using this on our PW webpage.

Let's Pamper the Eden Centers' Residents!

Presbyterian Women are collecting pampering items for Easter totes to be distributed to eighteen participants of the Eden Centers for Hope and Healing. Suggested items include candy, journals, toiletries, fun jewelry, yoga mats, towels, card games, and socks. Donations can be placed in the basket by the Chapel entrance.

YMCA Adult Literacy Program

Amy Leggette of the YMCA of Greater New Orleans wrote to us with their latest news: "Our YMCA adult literacy students are grateful to be able to come to class without worrying about how they will pay for transportation. Your community ministry funds cover the cost of bus tokens for our students who need them. This makes all the difference in their consistent effort and outcomes."

The program will be honoring several students at their annual National Adult Education Honor Society induction ceremony on Friday, April 10, and SCAPC members are welcome to attend. See the invitation under the YMCA listing on our community ministry webpage.

N.O. Women & Children's Shelter Event

The New Orleans Women & Children's Shelter, one of SCAPC's community ministry partners, is hosting "Bubbles and Bubbly" on Sunday, March 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Arbor Room in City Park. With bubbles, fun, music, and food for children and adults alike, Bubbles & Bubbly will offer a memorable evening for all while raising critical funding for the mission of NOWCS. For tickets, visit the Shelter's listing on our community ministry webpage.

The 40/50’s Yak, Snack, & Read Book Club meets next on Tuesday, March 17 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Land Building Lakeside Room. Join your fellow book lovers for snacks and discussion! Our book is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Prior reading is not required!
