Once again, the Port of New York and New Jersey has regained the top spot as the busiest Port in the nation not only in February 2023 but for all of 2023 to date. Many of the members of the Association collaborate in order to make this happen. As the Port has evolved, collaborating has become an essential tool in the transportation industry and is no longer reserved for times of crisis. Effective collaboration also brings stakeholders together to work towards the achievement of a common goal by thinking, brainstorming, and offering various perspectives. When collaborating – which goes a long way in raising the level of motivation and morale for all involved.
The Maritime Association encourages all it's members to collaborate and is happy to facilitate opportunities to help transform the supply chain into the true value chain it is to the public. Reach out and let us know how the Maritime Association can advocate on your behalf.

NOAA seeks candidates to apply for the Hydrographic Services Review Panel (HSRP) who are an expert in their field and can bring their voice to advise on NOAA data, products and services. Expertise areas sought include geodesy and geospatial, hydrographic surveying and mapping experts, ports, shipping, the boating community, scientists and academics, state and local experts, and a wide variety of other areas. The HSRP is focused broadly on navigation, observations and positioning services such as surveys, charting and safe navigation, tides and currents, sea levels, lidar, datums, precise positioning and more including the underlying data needed for climate change adaptation and resilience.

Maritime Administration (MARAD) has announced the FY 2023 PIDP Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO)
This funding opportunity awards grants on a competitive basis to assist in funding projects that improve the safety, efficiency, or reliability of the movement of goods through ports and intermodal connections to ports. Eligible projects include port electrification master planning; cargo handling equipment and harbor craft replacements; electric charging or hydrogen refueling infrastructure for drayage trucks and locomotives; idle reduction infrastructure; worker training to support electrification technology; and other environmental and emissions mitigation measures.
Applications are due by April 28, 2023.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has opened the application process for a $16.1 million program that provides grants to buy and install electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

Rising Star: Offshore Wind Scholarship | The Business Network for Offshore Wind’s Rising Star: Offshore Wind Scholarship is awarded each year to college-bound high school seniors who have demonstrated impeccable academic achievement and a keen interest in pursuing a career in offshore wind renewable energy. Each scholarship award will be for a total of $5,000, which must be used toward tuition fees. | | |
Since 1873, the Maritime Association has advocated, protected and encouraged trade through the commercial maritime industry in New York and New Jersey.
As a nonprofit trade association, the Maritime Association serves it's members by affecting policy change on local and national levels while promoting the regional industries maritime services at sea and ashore.
Stakeholder engagement is vital to the Maritime Association in order to ensure the security of maritime assets, the sustainability of the marine environment and grow the competitiveness of port services.
