Dear Assumption Family,

This week I invite you to attend our annual Back to School Night Tuesday evening. We will start by gathering in the Parish Hall at 6:00 pm. I will give a brief presentation about some of the new and exciting happenings at Assumption as well as introduce the teachers and staff. You will then be asked to move over to the school where you will have the opportunity to get to know your child's teacher, visit the classroom, and learn about the expectations for the school year.

I can not stress enough how important open and honest communication and collaboration are for your child's success here at Assumption. Parents are the primary teachers of their children, nobody knows them better than you. We would like to form a partnership between school and home for the betterment of our children. That partnership starts and is strengthened on Tuesday evening.

I look forward to seeing you this week and beginning our journey together.

WE ARE ASSUMPTION

Assumption Catholic School prides itself on its quality education, rooted in faith and service.

One example of this is our 2nd grade class taught by Ms. Kathy Andrade. Each year her class raises much needed funds towards a cure for childhood cancer through the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Once again, beginning Friday September 27th her class will sell lemonade to the Prek-4th grade during snack time and then in the Cafeteria for grades 5-8th during lunch. They hope to raise $1,000 throughout the year and donations of .50 to $1.00 per glass are greatly appreciated.

Attention PreK - On the morning of October 8th, the Fairfield Public Library will be joining the PreK (3, 4A, 4B)program for a Story Time and Teddy Bears' Picnic in front of the school on the lawn(weather permitting).

The guest librarian will share stories and a light snack will be provided by the school. We encourage all PreK students to please bring in a teddy bear from home to share in the fun!

We hope everyone is having a great start to the new year! We are already making plans for the future and want to ensure our current families remain part of the Assumption community.

A new returning family registration form will be sent home with all families the week of Oct. 15, if you return this form by Nov. 15 you will be offered a discounted registration fee for the 2020-2021 school year. After that, all families will be asked to pay the new family rate.

In addition, word of mouth is our best way of selling our school! If you know anyone that might be interested in our school this year, reach out to Mrs. Santoli as enrollment is rolling and a $250 tuition discount will be offered to all current families that recruit a new family throughout this current year.

Assumption has gone Green!
Hopefully you noticed throughout school and outside the building our new effort to go green. With the addition of a Single Stream Dumpster on campus, Clothing Recycling bins and recycling cans in each classroom, in the halls and cafeteria we are now able to recycle daily paper, plastic, cans, and more.
We ask that you please bring reusable water bottles as much as possible as we have our hallway water fountains that accommodate these bottles. Thank you for your efforts

Attention all Volunteers- to participate as a volunteer when our students are in attendance, at school building events or on field trips, you need to have completed the Diocese of Bridgeport Virtus Training.

For those wishing to complete this training, there is a session this week at St. Stephen Parish in Trumbull, 6948 Main St. Saturday, Sept.28 at 12:30pm
