Dear Assumption Family,
I hope each of you had a restful Summer with family and friends and are ready to come back refreshed and ready to learn this new school year.
We will welcome 185 Eagles on Tuesday to soar through this upcoming year surrounded by the love and support of their teachers, staff and myself. We are here for them every step of the way and know my door is always open.
This year we will continue to focus on excelling within the Diocese as a personalized learning environment and will now embrace the PBIS model as well across the entire school campus. Shortly you will see imagery of this throughout our halls and in classrooms. I will share more on this at Back to School night (date to come).
I wish to take this time to thank those that helped to get us ready for opening day- without their support it would not of been possible. There is such a long list that I couldn't begin to recognize everyone, please know you are thanked! I do wish to thank a couple that stand out.
The first to thank is Mrs. Gourley in the main office, she is my teammate and friend and a tremendously hard worker- she ordered all the books, supplies, answered all the questions and stood by me and the school all Summer long, thank you Mrs. Gourley! Second, is Mr. Ferreira kindergarten parent and husband to Mrs. Ferreira. He stepped in when things were tough and for that I am forever grateful. His constant smile and willingness to do anything truly made everything easier. Mrs. Ferreira also dedicated countless hours to beautify our upstairs bathrooms- we thank you! I'd also like to thank the Parish Office and Father Peter Cipriani who sent prayers, support and help whenever needed. They were so important this Summer!
Below you will see a prayer to our teachers- it is genuine and I thank them for all that they will do to shape our students in Christ's image and provide them the best teaching experience possible. You will see the walls decorated to welcome students with all their creativity- please know this warm atmosphere and hard work getting classrooms ready does not go unrecognized and our children are fortunate to have you in their lives.
In addition, we had countless volunteers, staff, families and friends who helped get everything in order, building desks, taking out trash, planting in the gardens and more....we thank you!
For those that haven't been at Assumption this Summer, you will see many changes when you return including a new PreK 4 classroom, new resource room and updated cafeteria. We have been very lucky to have support from various sources to help make all these updates possible. God bless these donors and thank you to those that helped make it all happen to better our student experience.
I wish you all a successful year, WE ARE ASSUMPTION.
