NEWS
FROM
THE NEST
Dear Assumption Family,
On Monday morning we will hold our first Lockdown Drill of the school year. This is just one of the many safety drills we hold throughout the year. Fairfield Police and Fire Departments require that we hold monthly Fire Drills and at least one Lockdown Drill. This drill will be observed by members of these departments to ensure validity and to help us improve our effectiveness.
As always, we hope that we will never need to put the school in Lockdown, but these drills are necessary to make sure everyone knows what to do in the event of a real emergency. Efforts are made to make this experience realistic without causing fear. This drill will be announced and explained prior to initiating the drill. Students will be held quietly in class for a few minutes before the administration clears the rooms starting with our youngest students. The entire experience will take less that 20 minutes.
Feel free to discuss this drill with your child tonight and or tomorrow. Please know that the safety of our students and staff are my top priority. We pray for safety at school and home, but must still prepare for any and all events.
Please consider bringing in gently used or new coats for our Coat Drive to benefit the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. The National Charity League will be collecting at our school from Oct. 14- Nov. 1.
Thank you!
Reminder:
