Acid Chloride Zinc vs. Alkaline Non-cyanide Zinc Electroplating: Impact on NSS Corrosion Results
SESSION 6 : ADVANCES IN SURFACE FINISHING TECHNOLOGY II
MONDAY, JUNE 19
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM
by Roger Sowinski, CTO and Vice President
An extensive study demonstrating the impact of electroplated zinc deposits from alkaline and acid zinc electroplating solutions will be presented. In addition to detailing how the electrolyte effects neutral salt spray (NSS) performance, Roger will detail how the findings to date can also be applied to selecting the best trivalent passivate for a specific deposit.
Water and the Plating Process
SESSION 13: IMPROVING PRODUCTIVITY
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21
10:00 AM – 10:30 PM
by Jake Fisher, Technical Sales Engineer - CEF
Water plays an integral and critical role in the plating process. Understanding the types, use, advantages and limitations of water significantly contributes towards optimizing performance of the entire plating line, while improving efficiencies and part quality.
Specifically, there are three types of water: hard, soft and purified. Whether used in the rinse tank or process solution, each interacts in distinct and important ways. Jake offers guidance on the selection and use of each type.
