Aston Elementary Weekly Update

Last Friday was National Peace Day and our students celebrated by making and displaying pinwheels for peace. Students talked about peace and ways to make the Aston Elementary School and community a more peaceful place.

Friday, September 28 is homecoming at Sun Valley. To show our school pride and support Sun Valley, Aston Elementary School will walk in the homecoming parade. This opportunity is open to everyone. We ask that students meet at the Community Center by 5:30 PM. Ms. Phillips and other staff members will be there with the Aston Elementary School Banner. Students must be accompanied by an adult and all family members are encouraged to walk with us. We will walk from the community center to the football game. Students and their families will also be invited to stay for the game.

In-service Day - September 28 is an in-service day for teachers. Students will be dismissed at 11:15 AM. No lunches will be served that day.

Communication Folders

Students will receive a communication folder and we will work to send all fliers, letters, and communication notices home on Wednesdays only. This way you know to look for it.

Come out for our Fall Social Night on October 4th at Not Your Average Joe's at Glen Eagle Square. Expect delicious appetizers, drink specials and good company! There will be raffle baskets available, so bring your dollars! As an added bonus, the person who brings the most friends to join PTL, wins a prize!!! This is a fantastic way to find out more about how the PTL serves the school and supports our students, as well as how to get involved. Better yet, you get to meet other parents!!!! Our Fall Festival will be on Friday, Oct. 20th . Have your children dress in their costumes and enjoy games, activities and food. We will have a pre-sale for wristbands and offer Family Meal Deals again this year. The volunteer sign up will be circulating soon - stay tuned for more info!!!!

Please complete and return the PTL papers that came home by Sept. 25th. In order to receive the Aston Elementary Directory , be sure to send in the $7 dues and complete the form. The PTL generates a Directory each year that lists students names and contact information. It's a wonderful resource for when you're looking to contact someone regarding homework, social events, carpools, party invitations, etc. Home Room Parent Forms were given out by your classroom teacher at Back to School Night.

FUNDRAISING

Fall Yankee Candle Sale will run from Oct. 1st-15th. Flyers will be sent home on Oct. 1st.

Manbroso's To Go is hosting Spirit Night on Oct. 8th. Enjoy take out or have your dinner delivered. 15% of ALL sales will go to our school!

Discount Cards are on sale for half price - $7.50. Valid through March 2019.
