February has arrived! Let's hope the Groundhog does not see his shawdow tomorrow and we have an early spring! We sure could use some warmer weather!
Tech Tip from our Technology Teacher, Ms. Cameron
Who’s in Charge? You or Your Tech?
Today’s apps, games, and videos are designed to grab attention and keep it—sometimes making it hard for kids (and adults!) to put them down. Helping children understand this can empower them to take control. Talk about how tech is made to be tempting, and encourage kids to pause and ask, “Am I using this, or is it using me?” Building self-awareness helps kids develop healthy habits and stay in charge of their choices, not just their screens.
Action Step: Awareness is the first step. Make a point of having this discussion as a family over (screen-free) dinner tonight.
LIM/PBIS Update: Thank you to all of the parents who sat in our our Leader in Me presentation during Aston in Action Night! If you were unable to attend, look for some information to come home with students. One thing to look out for are the chat cards - they are are a great tool for starting discussions at the dinner table! The Leader in Me program emphasizes the development of leadership skills in all students.
Nurse Corner
Smile Program: The mobile dentist will be at Northley Middle School on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Below is the link to register. Students who are registered will be bused to Northley and back to Aston. Time is TBD, so it is suggested that students pack a lunch that day if possible. If not, we will be sure they get to eat if they miss their assigned lunch time.
