Ms. Susan Phillips, Principal

Week of October 13, 2025

Picture Day is Thursday, October 15! See information above.

We continue to cruise through the fall, keeping students busy and engaged in curriculum balanced with fun activities. There is a lot going on this week including a PTL meeting, an evacuation drill, and picture day!

Off SIte Evacuation Drill

October 15, 2025 10 AM

We are required to practice an off site evacuation drill every 2 years. We will hold this drill on Wednesday, October 15. We will board Penn Delco buses around 10 AM, then head to Neumann University for our practice. While at Neumann, we will go into the gym, take attendance, and then reboard the buses to return to Aston. The Aston Police Department and Neumann Staff will assist. The drill will take around 30 to 45 minutes. Teachers will be discussing this with students on Monday. Feel free to discuss with your child/children and let us know if you have any questions.

Conferences

Evening conferences will be Monday, November 24th for Elementary students and Tuesday, November 25th for Middle School students. This may be different from what you were told at back to school night. We are sorry for any confusion this may have caused!

Leader in Me/PBIS Updates:

Students are continuing to learn to be proactive as we move through the school year. Students are planning when to do homework, how to study for tests, and how to navigate social situations during the school day. We will continue to support them through this journey.

Technology Tools for Parents

Parent Tech Tip from our Technology Teacher, Ms. Cameron

Thinking Before You Post: The “Would Grandma Approve?” Rule

Online posts can feel temporary, but they often last far longer than expected. A photo, video, or comment shared today may be visible to teachers, coaches, or future classmates tomorrow. Kids can use the simple “Would Grandma approve?” test before posting: if it’s not something they’d want a grandparent, teacher, or trusted adult to see, it’s probably best not to post. This helps children pause and think about how their digital choices affect both themselves and others. Families can reinforce this idea by practicing role-play scenarios, such as, “What would you do if a friend asked you to share a funny but embarrassing photo?” Action step: This week, talk with your child about the Grandma test and come up with your own family version—maybe the “Principal Test” or “Coach Test.” Use it as a quick reminder before posting or sharing online.
